Letics Sports Tijuana FC

The Bridge and Power of Peace Project held a seminar for over 120 students at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) to promote peace and protect lives. The families of our players on Letics Sports Tijuana FC and fellow community members in Terrazas came together to march for peace.

La Mesa prisoners were also writing letters to the boys in the soccer club to stay true to the commitment to peace throughout their tough lives on the streets and playing soccer, giving the boys and girls of Tijuana a voice and become the champions of peace in an area known for violence, drug cartels, trafficking, and murder. Hearing of the peace that the soccer club has created in their neighborhoods, they were invited to play a game in the Youth Correctional Facility and a Rehabilitation Clinic in Tijuana. Families of our soccer players have decided to bring the message of peace and hope to their neighborhood. The families decided to meet every other Sunday afternoon to bring a message of peace and hope to their neighborhood and to work together to be the light in this dark world.

The boys and girls of Letics Sports Tijuana FC were invited to speak to a group of elementary school students in Camino Verde about living in peace and what it takes to be a peacemaker. Two of our players, one boy, and one girl spoke to the group about their personal life stories, the struggles they have faced growing up and still living as an adolescent in Tijuana, and how practicing peace and staying hopeful can provide an opportunity to a successful and happy life.
